Plastic Media Blast Cleaning

Plastic media blasting (PMB) dry striping process uses plastic particles rather than silica sand or other hard abrasives. It is the method of choice for the removal of paint and other coatings.
The plastic media can attack and break paint layers or other surface coatings without harming the underlying substrate because it is harder than the coatings but softer than the substrate. Applications at low pressures of 20 to 40 p.s.i. result in extremely effective cutting, shearing. and lifting action. This makes our StripMaster process effective on almost all surface coatings such as acrylics, enamels, epoxies, Teflon coatings, polyurethane coatings, and many others.

Plastic media may be used on a variety of surfaces including; Alclad, bare, and anodized aluminum. Composite materials such as graphite, fiberglass, and Kevlar. Steel and exotic metals such as magnesium, titanium, and Invar.
The plastic media process can remove one layer of coating at a time without pitting, stretching, warping, or metal loss. Various coatings such as Bondo or primer may be left in place if so desired.
The plastic media process is faster than chemical strippers; coatings can be removed in less time that scuff sanding while achieving a superior bond surface and resultant in improved durability of new coatings.
The PMB process is free of toxic chemicals. It has been successfully demonstrated to the military, EPA, and other government agencies, where it has been described as BEST AVAILABLE TECHNOLOGY. It has been used with outstanding success in the dry stripping of commercial, military, and privately owned aircraft, air-frames and helicopters.
